Sage Bauers fending off Ron Shevock or 2nd

Sage Bauers fending off Ron Shevock for 2nd

Sage Bauers put it all out there for the overall series win on Sundays’ 65 degree, Jaunary 22, Finale.  The final race of the series was held at the Folsom Rodeo.  This was without a doubt the best course layout this venue has seen.  Everyone had strengths and weaknesses on this course, and it came down to race tactics, end of the season fitness, and sheer will. Sage did beat Ron Shevock on the day, but it was not enough to overtake him for the series win.

Other finishers were Peter Knudsen finished 4th in the single speed race, Jim Macdonald in 6th, Greg Ries in 10th, and Derek Daun in 14th.

Race Age 70, Mike Macdonald, took control of the sprint over the final 50 meters.  We all hope to be able to do the same when we reach the same age.  Absolutely Awesome!

Chris Dougherty first raced his SS bike in the C’s race, and then manned up again for another round of spiral in the mud in the Master B35 category. Robert Kimezy and Mark Sheffiled also contested the spiral of death in the Master B35 race.

Mark Sheffield made the trek down south with the family in tow for the inaugural Nor Cal vs So Cal championships.  “So rad! This is the best cyclocross experience I’ve had to date(except Nationals).”  Team BEER will be representing in numbers next year.
